I’ve talked about the half tuck before. I love it! It amps up the slouchiness factor, hides the belly bulge and adds a certain flavor to the outfit. I got this sweatshirt from TJ Maxx.

I bought this tee shirt/blouse from The Outnet with a portion of the $500 gift card I won. I love that the color is sort of limey and not too minty green. This is how I wear pastels, mixed with a little edge. Although as the weather heats up, I may be going full out nudes and pastels.

My favorite spring trends: black and white (is it that really a trend? It seems like it’s a classic that’s always in) and the new pastels. I am so not a pastel person, but I can’t help but fall in love with the mint greens and pale blues out there now. I’ll be sure to work those colors into my wardrobe.

I actually wore this outfit in January. I wore it to my daughter’s birthday party at Cookie Cousins, a local cookie place that seriously has the BEST cookies ever. My good friend, Ellen Bessette, of Ellen Bessette Events did the decorations. Check out her other parties, they are fab!

March is Colon Cancer Awareness Month. Some good friends started AliveAndKickn to raise awareness about colon cancer and the importance of early detection. So, Dave, this blue is for you! Please check Dave’s story at AliveAndKickn. They’re doing some great things!

We decided to hit Universal Studios Islands of Adventure the other day. Have you seen the outfits people wear to the theme parks? Wow. Let me offer some tips: an oversize tee shirt doesn’t hide your beer belly; leggings are NOT pants (nor are they flattering on anyone over the age of 10) and please, please, please wear shorts that aren’t too tight.

Hubby and I recently attended our daughter’s school endowment ball. Instead of buy something new, I decided to look in my closet (and my friend’s closet!). A good friend sent me three of her picks, but I chose this Helmut Lang dress I bought in NYC last year. It felt right for the time of year–a little springy, yet still appropriate.

When the weather turn cold I like to get comfy in a slouchy sweater. When you go with this much volume on top, you have to go streamlined on bottom. So, think: pencil skirt or skinny jeans.

I’ve always liked Rebecca Taylor’s feminine prints but they were a little too girly for me. Lately her collection has been a little more downtown edgy and I’m loving that!

I debated about even putting this outfit on the blog today because I’m sick of winter colors! I do love this burgandy, but I’m craving the electric colors of spring. This skirt is about 10 years old but the cut is so classic (pencil) that it’s still on trend today. I find that investing in classic styles really pay off. You’ll be sick of the clothing item before it goes out of style!
