Every year (and sometimes twice a year), my mother and I hit Renningers’ Extravaganza, a huge antique flea market. I generally look for jewelry. I came away empty handed this time. I fell in love with an antique brass Czech bracelet with cobalt stones, but at $100, I wasn’t sure if it was worth it. I did some research once I came home and found a similar one on ebay for $179, so it probably was a good price. It’s so hard to buy vintage or antique jewelry if you don’t know a lot about it.

I did make one purchase though, a Number 3, my son’s football number. I LOVE these industrial-looking, metal, rusted giant letters and numbers. I think they would look super in a gameroom and saved a picture (and got the guy’s card) for when we re-do our gameroom. In the meantime, I bought one for my son to hang on his wall. I also found some cool custom furniture. Unfortunately, the industrial-chic style doesn’t go well with my traditional house. I am slowly moving toward a more modern look in the house and this guy’s cool tables will bring a minimalist vibe that may blend with traditional and transitional if done properly. You can check out his stuff here: Industrial Chic by Christopher Bailey.
