Fancy Florals

I bought this dress on ebay for $32 last year but haven’t worn it. I finally had it reworked. It is a vintage 1980s dress from Diane Von Furstenberg and it had HUGE shoulder pads. I took it to the tailor, had pads removed and the shoulders taken in a bit. I actually think it could use more alterations as it fits a bit big all over.

Magpie Styling Tip: The reason celebrities look so good in their clothing is that items are altered to fit perfectly. Very rarely can a normal person pick something up off the rack and have it fit perfectly. Most of the time it’s fine without alterations but not always. Don’t pass up a good buy when it can easily be hemmed, taken in or tweaked. Believe me, you’ll be amazed at the difference.
