Travel Outfit

By the time you read this I’ll be on my way to Denver for work. I need to go directly from the airport into a meeting, so I needed an outfit that was both comfortable and business casual. This cashmere wrap dress is perfect. It’s warm, comfortable and can be dressed up and down. I bought this six years ago at the NYC Diane Von Furstenberg store. I’ve worn it to dinner parties, for cocktails, to work events and more. Love it! It’s a classic style that won’t go out of style.

Back in Black

As I’ve gotten older, I’ve taken more risks with my wardrobe. However, I still think nothing can beat a simple, stylish black dress.

Suede Leggings

I wore this outfit for Thanksgiving, nice and comfy! I fell in love with some Balenciaga suede leggings that were ridiculously expensive, so when I saw these faux suede leggings at H&M, I snapped them up. I felt like I was wearing pajamas as I stuffed myself!

Birds

Whew, busy week, haven’t had time to post. I wore this dress to church last Sunday. I’m not thrilled with the shoes, but can’t figure out which shoes to wear with this dress. The only grey ones I have are too light.

Casual Statement Necklace

OK, this outfit looks suspiciously like the outfit I wore a couple days ago. It has the same basic color scheme and, of course, I’m wearing the same jeans and shoes. The necklace takes it up a notch, oui? It’s a casual statement necklace, because it makes a casual statement… 🙂

3 Fall Looks For Less

Hi everyone! My niece had career day and for some crazy reason she chose me to shadow. Since it’s no fun sitting and watching me write, I took her to a local boutique: Sophie & Trey to style a few outfits and model them. She then wrote the blog post.
Which outfit do you like best? She would love your comments!!!

Faux suede motorcycle jacket, purple tank, Agate necklace, knit high waist shorts, leg warmers and brown tie boots

Today was career day for the middle schoolers at my school, so I chose my aunt to job shadow. I job shadowed her because I want to mix fashion with writing. We went to a local boutique, and I got to try on clothes and model them.

First Outfit (above): I chose these shorts. You can dress them up or down, and you can wear them to parties, to dinner or really anywhere.  The also have the great fall colors like purple and some browns. Total cost of outfit: $182 (approx. I forgot to write down prices.)

Second Outfit: I chose the sequin skirt because it’s a fun way to dress up a casual sweater or top. You can wear this to parties or you could pair it with a plain white t-shirt and flats and wear it out to lunch or dinner. Total cost of outfit: $144

Ellie actually bought this outfit to wear for the holidays. I love the boots with it as they make the whole outfit more age appropriate.

Dollman sleeve tee shirt, chevron print sequin mini skirt, triple chain gold necklace, long gold and black necklace and motorcycle boots

Third Outfit: I decided to model this dress because it’s fun and colorful, and has fun fall colors like purple and orange!  Fur vests are very in right now and look great with a colorful dress.  Total Cost of Outfit: $240

Visit Sophie & Trey and its sister store 4th and Ocean in Lake Mary.

What a Difference a Belt Makes

When putting this outfit together, I didn’t even think about belting this top under the jacket. Then, I took some pictures for the blog and felt like something just wasn’t right. The top made my stomach look pauchy because the skirt fabric under it didn’t allow for a smooth line. It’s a small thing, but what a difference a belt makes, huh? That little pop of color took attention away from my stomach and gave me some definition.

BEFORE: No Belt

AFTER: With the pink belt
