Project: Wardrobe Makeover First Purchases
Last week I introduced you to Adrea, a friend of mine who is looking for a wardrobe update. Her goal was to come up with some classic, polished outfits she can wear everyday. Her budget is $1,500. Adrea and I did her first round of shopping online when Banana Republic had 40% off everything on their website. Gap and Old Navy had 25% off at the same time.
From her original list, we found:
Banana Republic Trouser Jeans $53.70
Banana Republic Floral Flowy Blouse $47.50
Banana Republic Python Print Belt $15
Gap Grey Trouser Shorts $29.99
Gap Black Trouser Shorts $37.46
Gap Pleated Animal Print Skirt: $39.99
Old Navy Blue Blouse: $15
Old Navy Black Tie Neck Blouse: $15
Old Navy Lace Trim Chiffon Dress: $29.99
Old Navy Green Dots Bow Tie Top: $19.50
Old Navy Leopard Print Blouse: $25
Old Navy Green Ruffle Tie Back Shirtdress: $29
Old Navy Chambray Camp Shirt: $25
Amount Spent So Far: About $380 (I say about because there were discounts involved and I don’t have her receipts for exact amounts.)
Amount Left to Spend: About $1,120
Adrea only plans on keeping one pair of shorts. And, she has to try everything on to see if she likes the way it all fits. It’s a work in process. And to think we haven’t even gone shopping yet! Once we go shopping and determine what we’re keeping and what we’re sending back, I’ll put together outfits and show you how to mix and match.
Here’s her original list:
Bootcut Jeans
Trouser Jeans
Skinny or ankle crop Jeans
Flowy blouses
Denim Jacket: I think a classic dark denim jacket would be awesome!
Black Boots (heel): Absolutely love this classic style from Loft
Caramel Boots (flat)
Flats: Leopard is a go-to and a neutral, really! I also like the Tory Burch Eddie Flat in Black or Carmel.
A Statement Necklace and Bracelets
Going out Dress: I love this style and it can be dressed up and down. I also like this one.
Casual Dress
Casual Skirts
Drapey Tee Shirts
One Statement Bag
Scarf and some Belts
I think we’re in good shape. A lightweight blazer or jacket may pull it all together.
