I’ve been wanting a pair of colored denim but haven’t taken the plunge. Well, I did buy a pair of red ankle-length jeans from Zara but I didn’t like the way they fit. When I saw this burgandy/fig color, I knew that was the color for me. Not as bright as the red and a perfect warm fall color. I figured it would blend well with the cognac, black and grey neutrals. I bought a pair from Top Shop and then I used a gift card to get these–which are a little wilder. Yep, leopard print–again. But, it’s subtle.

I know the holidays are a little ways away, but I always like to have one somewhat casual, yet festive, outfit at the ready. I had a couple free moments and put this together. It’s simple yet glam and perfect for a last-minute holiday dinner or drinks.

A friend of mine started a book club and our first meeting was last night. I wanted something casual but stylish. True Confession: I don’t wear glasses and I really don’t like them on me at all. But, it’s a book club, and I have to look smart. Ha Ha! I got these readers because I’m losing my ability to read the fine print on medicine bottles, especially when my eyes are tired.

I just discovered Frieda & Nellie necklaces and WOW! I’ve seen the friendship bracelets before, but never the necklaces. They are totally me: vintage, bold, colorful and different.

I was in H&M the other day helping my son pick out some clothing for grandparents day and tacky tourist day–it’s homecoming week. I saw this Beatles tee shirt and fell in love on the spot.

For some reason I am horribly attracted to this Euro-tough type of look. Leather, black, boots…I know, I know, a soccer (well, really football and baseball and dance) mom from the burbs…what can I say? I like that it’s streamlined and easy to wear.

The weather has finally gotten a little cool here. I wore this carting my daughter around to a birthday party! I love these stripes. If it was colder, I would pair this with a red jacket.

This is the type of outfit I tend to turn to for everyday (well, when I’m not wearing yoga pants!) The blouse doesn’t require ironing, the jeans are comfy and the flats are easy to slip on. What is your mom outfit?

I feel like I’m hanging out in the country in this outfit. Denim on denim can be tricky. Most of the time you want to go with contrasting colors. The jeans are a little darker than the top, but what makes it work is that I layered a vest and scarf over it to give it some contrast.
