Project: Wardrobe Makeover
Let me introduce you to Adrea, a mom of two and good friend who asked me to help her makeover her wardrobe. I’m so excited about working with her. As a gift, her husband gave her $1,500 to spend on a new wardrobe.
Adrea’s style is classic. In going through her closet, she tends to go with solids, blacks and pastels. She has a girly side that likes ruffles and purple, which can trend on the younger side. Of course, Adrea is young, but her goal is to find a more classic, casual look that is comfortable (for errands and school runs), yet looks polished. She prefers skirts but likes the look of the baggier fall trouser shorts and would live in jeans all winter long.
The first thing we did was go through her closet. That pile? That’s what she’s getting rid of, which is more than she has left! After we sorted through the clothing, I arranged her closet by sleeveless/short sleeve knit shirts (like colors together), blouses, cardigans, skirts, dresses. I put all the like colors together so she can better see what she has.
Adrea showed me her favorite items as well as some outfits she pulled from magazines. She also pinned some outfits on Pintrest that you can see here. Some items on her wish list:
Bootcut Jeans
Trouser Jeans: I like these from Banana Republic
Skinny or ankle crop Jeans
Flowy blouses
Denim Jacket: I think a classic dark denim jacket would be awesome!
Black Boots (heel): Absolutely love this classic style from Loft
Caramel Boots (flat)
Flats: Leopard is a go-to and a neutral, really! I also like the Tory Burch Eddie Flat in Black or Carmel.
A Statement Necklace and Bracelets
Going out Dress: I love this style and it can be dressed up and down. I also like this one.
Casual Dress
Casual Skirts
Drapey Tee Shirts
One Statement Bag
Scarf
Our goal is to put together at least 10-20 different outfits from the pieces that we buy. I’d like to add some color to her wardrobe, include one or two fab items that take her out of her comfort zone and give her some classics with staying power. Stay tuned for our shopping trip!
